Dear Friend,

In this critical time, we hope that you and your family are safe and healthy. We have continued to provide classes remotely to our students during our Fall Term. However, our annual International Dinner, which is normally held in October, is canceled this year due to COVID-19 concerns.

The International Dinner has been an extremely popular event in which students prepared favorite foods from their various homelands. The International Dinner also provided the opportunity for students and their families to meet students from other classes and mix and mingle with Welcoming the Stranger’s staff, teachers, classroom volunteers, board members, donors and supporters.

In addition to the cuisine and socialization, the International Dinner was our single, major fundraising event through sponsors, ticket sales, raffles and auctions. The monies raised at this event helped us to deliver free educational services to our immigrant and refugee students.

To help fill this gap in our fundraising we are conducting a Special Fall Fundraiser Appeal. This year, because of COVID-19, we are respectfully asking you to support an Imaginary International Dinner through your donations as if the real Dinner actually was being held.
